Early Years & SEND Consultant

Louise Herbert

Insightful Beginnings

‘Insightful Beginnings’ began in 2024, when Louise decided to start her own company providing Early Years and SEND advice to families, schools and settings who were not getting the support that they deserved.

Louise is an experienced Early Years teacher and school leader who has worked in mainstream and special schools since 2008.

Louise has a solid track record of offering strategic and operational support to senior leadership teams (SLT) and staff in schools and settings, particularly in developing their Early Years and SEND provision. She has supported schools and settings to prepare for OFSTED inspections and achieved Outstanding results. She thrives in training staff to enhance their knowledge and skills concerning SEND and the early years curriculum.

Her interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) blossomed in 2015 when she was appointed as an Advisory Teacher within the Specialist Support Service of a Local Authority. In this role she gained invaluable insights into the specific needs of schools, colleges, and early years settings in their endeavour to support students with a range of needs. Furthermore, she worked closely with families to ensure they received the guidance necessary to navigate the challenges of parenting a child with SEND. Louise’s forte lies in working with families, and she always strive to provide non-judgmental and supportive advice, acknowledging that parenting, whether with or without the added challenges of SEND, is the most demanding and important job a person can undertake.

Louise is married and has a very old terrier, who enjoys a very slow walk (as long as it isn’t raining!) She loves to exercise, lift weights, travel and spend time with her wonderful friends
